Packing your equipment for return
A sturdy box and a few household materials can help your equipment arrive safely.
Return: Your modem and its power cord or adapter. If you have a telephone adapter from us, include it and its power cord or adapter too.
Damage charge: We charge $100 if equipment is damaged during shipping due to insufficient packaging.
Gather your supplies
A strong cardboard box, packing tape, and clean, dry towels, old T-shirts or cloth shopping bags. Crumpled newspaper or paper bags can fill the gaps. Use spare materials you can send with your return.
1 Wrap separately. Unplug everything. Wrap each device in several layers of cloth. Fold thin shopping bags to make thicker padding. Coil and wrap the power cords and adapters separately.
2 Cushion the box. Put a thick layer of padding in the bottom. Add the wrapped equipment, with at least 5 cm (2 in) of padding on every side. Keep items from touching each other or the box.
3 Fill every gap. Tuck firmly crumpled paper or folded cloth around the items and over the top. Close the box and gently shake it. If anything moves, add more padding.
4 Tape and label. Tape the centre seam and both edge seams on the top and bottom. Remove old labels and follow the return address or label instructions in your email.
Use a box, not a mailing bag. Keep your shipping receipt and tracking number.
